Hi thanks for any advice or help.
I just got a used laptop, Acer Aspire 4520. I want to upgrade the mempry
it as 2 slots and can take 4gb RAM (according to the manual)
Quote"Up to 4gb of DDR2 67 MHz memory using 2 soDIMM modules(dual channel support)"
anyone know wer I can buy these? or some shop i can go to where they will install them for me?
any ideas on rough price?
will it help performance much? i have athlon 64 dual core processers and the ram is shared with vdeo... but the RAM monitor says its 88% used (this is at rest) is that normal? or do i have some other problems?
nce again thanks for any advice.... |

1. How much RAM do you have now?
2. What kind of programs do you usually run?
3. Are you running Vista?
4. Do you run a lot of programs at the same time?
It all depends, but RAM can make your system seem a lot faster if you're short on it. And it wasn't completely clear, but if you're at 88% usage at startup, then you probably need more.
Also, if you answered yes to 3 or 4 and have 512mb or less then you definitely want to upgrade the RAM.
You can get it at yongsan. Should be around $45 for 2GB of the cheap stuff. |

Unless you are running 64 bit WINDOWS (XP64 or VISTA 64) it is pointless to get more than 3 gigs of RAM.
32 bit windows (XP or VISTA) can't use more than 3.5 gigs of RAM.
The best place to get it would be over at the son-in plaza across the tracks from the station.
