I`m an F-4 visa holder going to teach in Korea in the very near future. I know about the various benefits of having the F- visa and so forth but was wondering how best I should approach things jobwise.

Just wondering how fellow F visa holders go about things? Is it better to look for various part time gigs rather than a 1 full time job? Is pay significantly better doing this?

I`m assuming if I take that option I`ll be paying for my own flight tickets, insurance ,housing deposit etc. If the benefits outweight the cons I will consider doing that ahead of taking a FT job.

Just after some advice before deciding on things. Cheers for the replies.

(PS: I have read the stickies/searched but don`t really answer my question)

Take a regular contract to begin with. It gets you a flight over and takes the worry out of housing while you get your bearings.

You still have the option of extra part-time work at your convenience.

After you get the lay of the land and have made arrangements for your own housing, quit and do what you want. You are a big boy and not tied to the employer.
