I mean by what you can actually afford and is wide spread and available.
New technology that will become the norm...as apposed to shit that is invented but you cant really buy. hardware or software....

Wireless everything that runs without the need of batteries. i.e. wireless charging
Visual based keyboard, projected image rather than physical hardware.
100% global land wifi coverage.
live satellite imaging

Implanted brain chips connecting us to the internet 24/7, allowing access to movies and information, etc. Look out for the viruses though, could really *beep* with your hardware?

This is similar to what I was going to say. I don't want implants as medical stuff scares me as well as the always being connected thing, but a mind reading device that reads our brainwaves to control the machine would speed up our computing. If the computer is directly connected to our brains, viruses might sabotage an end users brain to cause cardiac arrest or other fatal shutdown as a form of cyber terrorism or it simply could cause an end users to do weird things or go crazy. No chips are going into my brain, but I'm open to my brain working as a keyboard and mouse.

Unfortunately, connecting by thought waves would lead to handwriting and typing becoming a thing of the past just as cursive writing is becoming.

It is true all this will come about if we keep evolving technology like the way we've done for 3 decades now.

I want a computer that is not dependent on a physical internet connection such as KT Megapass, but directly links to satellite from anywhere in the world much like how it can connect to Wi-fi signals where ever they're present.

Highly intelligent AI. Followed by self-aware AI, just like in sci-fi. I don't care if it takes over the world, as long as the house is clean and the fridge has beer in it.

I worry about the current state of the space we share with the varying waves and frequencies. I think it will have an adverse affect in the long-term, so I am not a big proponent of increasing that.

The home PC still has a lot of headroom. The user interface will develop, especially for typing documents. I think voice technology will become much more realistic for such tasks.

The visual interface must change as well. We can have a far more immersive experience by manipulating our peripheral vision, IMAX style. Curved displays (foldable, etc) need to be looked at.

The classroom needs to be totally transformed.

Pen and paper need to be put to rest, as does the paper-based textbook. The tablet (not in it's current form, but looking more like a foldable clipboard) with a local wireless network, all running in real time. This will also work in conjunction with the whiteboard; everything the teacher writes will also be scribed in the student's tablets. Lectures can be recorded on the device as well, for playback at home by the learner. Testing would be done on a per-student basis, altered in real time to prevent cheating, tailored to individual learning styles, etc. Headsets and mics would allow for a new level of interaction and reflection on what the classroom offered; students could do pair work with someone across the room, record the activity, listen to it later for reflective purposes.

I guess no pie-in-the-sky for me; I want better solutions that are quite attainable currently. We are making poor use of whats right under our noses.
