About 10-12 years ago I read in the newspaper here about a teacher coming home drunk and walking through a sliding glass door in his apartment. Blood everywhere, as you might imagine. Then he went to his bedroom and passed out.

Meanwhile his two roommates, also drunk, got into a knock down, dragout fight/boxing match in the living room. Yelling, breaking things, bodyslamming one another, etc. Then, suddenly, they laughed it off and decided to go out for a couple of more drinks together.

A Korean neighbor, having heard all of the commotion, called the local police. When the police pounded on the door a few minutes later, the passed out guy got out of bed and went to answer the door. The police, upon seeing this drunk, bloody guy, proceeded to immediately shoot him (in the ass, as I recall).

An ambulance then came and took him to the hospital, where he was treated for the gunshot wound (and had his numerous glass cuts stitched up). I don't recall who had to pay for the ambulance/hospital bill.

Anyway, I was telling this story to some friends (newbies) last night and they called bullshit on it. Said the police couldn't be that incompetent/trigger happy.

Does anybody else remember reading or hearing about this event? I need a witness; I've got a beer riding on it, IF I can get verification.
