Ok. I recently moved into a new apartment (provided by my school). Provided with the apartment is a single bed. I am planning on buying a new mattress, but haven't done so yet. Seeing as I haven't bought a new mattress yet, I recently steam cleaned the mattress, bed-box and all the pillows that were in the apartment.
But, I've also recently noticed that when I wake up, my legs are covered with small blisters. For some reason, they're only on my legs. I'm quite fanatical about cleanliness, so I doubt it's a hygiene issue , so I'm assuming that this bed has bed bugs.
Does anyone know of a product I can buy to kill bed bugs? Like I said, I do plan on buying a new mattress sometime in the future, but for now I just want something to use on the mattress in case there are bed bugs.
Thanks! |

you should check your sheets (that doesn't really sound like bed bugs to me). bed bugs will leave tiny, + sign shaped dropping stains that are really hard to wash away, also you might find little droplets of your blood on the sheets.
problem with bed bugs is that they can be very hard to get rid of --many people think new mattress, new box, done-- but bed bugs can also live in little crevices in your wall, etc. near your bed. even multiple sprayings may not get them all |

simple fly spray will kill them. wash your sheets, blankets, clothes in warm water. Raise your mattress on its side and flyspray the hell out of it. Also make sure you spray the frame (esp if wooden). Get a flea bomb if you can find one, otherwise empty most of a can of fly spray in the air while holding your breath and leave for a few hours.
It works (probably not the safest and I would hate to see the state of my future kids) |

You need an exterminator to get rid of them. It usually actually takes an exterminator about three times totally get rid of them. They live in the walls, in tiny crevices and they come out just before daylight to feast. When I had them, I woke up at 4 AM and they were crawling all over my bed. They also give you terrible nightmares. |
