|
|
There is a pc room located right outside my flat. Over time iv got to know the owner- a typical chain smoking nerd, friendly though speaks hardly any english. Hes brought me out drinking a few times to the local small bar. He said anytime I want to call in im welcome. Thinking of taking him up on the offer and checking out some korean games.
Any pc room gamers out there? Wouldnt mind checking it out, only ever used the place for emails etc before I got internet in my room. Is it ok to just arrive, log on and start playing the other people? Are the games easy to understand?
Which games are decent? someone said that sudden attack is the big one round here. |

Ya need a Korean account. Get your friend to make you an account for every game there is. It'll take him some time, but you can pay him for his services if you feel so inclined. Only Koreans can make accounts for these games.
Anyway, your next alternative is to just screw Korean games and play CS: Nexon (still need an account) and Hellgate: London which a lot of PC Rooms have (need to pay though). Sudden Attack is terrible, it's not for serious FPS players at all. I actually think it's programmed to be balanced and fair for everyone, which is complete crap.
The Special Forces / QAVA games look like a lot of fun, but I haven't played them. The RPGs are all in Korean so you're at a loss there. Most computers will have Warcraft III which is good if it's your cup of tea, and you don't need an account.
Also, you don't need Korean account to play SC and you can connect to North American servers.
I usually just play CS: Nexon and Starcraft at PC Bangs. I would play Hellgate because I have it at home, but I'm not sure if I can because I'm on the North American server. |

ah, so i cant just walk in and start playing- do most pc rooms charge extra for setting up an account? How long does this take? Is it a case of having to set up some derect debit rubbish?
sudden attack looks good for me being someone who likes halo, and also a newbie to any korean games. Are pc rooms decent places for getting to know koreans, and are they addictive- ie damn good fun? Warcraft is a no no for me, and iv never been massive on strategy when it comes to an actualy pc version.
so basically everyone in the pc room isnt playing each other, rather they are just playing online against anyone else?? Profile info needed, cheers. |

I play age of empires III at my PC bang cause I don't have a working computer at home. Course that has to be installed and requires a CD. I got a lot of attention at first, but it p[assed quite quickly. |

Team fortress 2 is the only online game anyone should play. To even consider anything else is a mark against you as a credible human being worthy of living. |

No, no and no. It's fun for an hour, and then it gets old. As is the case on my computer.
Every other game on the source engine I've been playing is spectacular though (Zombie Panic! Insurgency et. al) |

so if they are just playing people over the internet, why do they bother going to a pc room all the time, sure they could just play at home |

PC Bangs are better in some ways... the being waited on, the convenience, being able to smoke and be around friends...
I like them a lot, and I think I'd like them twice as much if I was Korean. |

got this from wiki,
Sudden Attack (Korean: 서든어택) is a free Korean first-person shooter game developed by GameHi. Anyone with a South Korean citizenship registration number can create an account on Netmarble and play.

Does someone know a PC Bang which offers local (LAN) Counter-Strike?
Or does it simply not exist in Korea?... |

I just bought a HDD enclosure to make an external drive to play WoW on. I wanna play WoW at a PC bang because it will A: limit my time and B: reduce the insomnia that comes from gaming in your apartment (spending too much time in your sleeping area can increase insomnia). |
