Sometimes it's like you can never see the sun shine through the clouds. The past few days have been stressful in and out of work. I was really hating it when I lost my phone yesterday and had to buy a new one. Lost all the contact info of everyone I know here. My entire weekend has been consumed doing things I really don't want to do. Just one of those weekends.

Onto the upside of things...

My neighbor is great. A few months ago when I moved in, I thought she was kind of uptight and standoffish, she was dressed very nicely, her husband was nicely tailored as well, thought they were kind of high maintenance couple.

A couple of weeks ago, my light fell from the ceiling fixture and was hanging there. The door to my apt was wide open as I was wondering how to fix it as it is unlike any kind of light fixture I had seen before. She walked right into my apt and went up to the light and said something, I'm not so sure as to what, then a mosquito flies in and lands on the ceiling. She freaks out, lets out a squeaky scream, and tries to smash it. Then she jumps down and bolts from my apartment and accross the hall into hers and slams the door.

Two nights later she knocks on my door and has this little blue machine that you put these blue flower scented chips into that give off a repelling scent, which has kept my apartment mosquito free for the past few weeks.

Just now she knocks on my door and has a full bag of humungous juicy red ripe tomatos. I was a bit shocked but took the bag and thanked her. This could be the beginning of something beautiful. Razz

My landlady is a sweetie too. She is always happy to see me when I come home and she is very patient in helping me with my Korean. My Korean friends think it is funny how she encourages me to speak informally to her (I don't do this when her friends are around of course). The fact that I have met several kind people like her gives me hope for Koreans in general.

A guy and his family were sitting on a bench next to me at Yoranaru today. He went and bought snacks and handed me some milk and cookies. Put a smile on my face.

Chrstians are my guess. There are a lot of them around and some are not so fruity.

Also keeping contact info in a seperate filing system or notebook helps. Koreans even do that.

You sound like a tool if you plan to flirt with her.

I can just imagine you with your ear pressed up against your computer monitor trying to hear the words I have typed earlier.

Do you by any chance know the name of this "blue machine" brand/name etc - or where I can purchase one?

my guess would be that you can find it at EMart of Home Plus or Home Ever. Look in the section that sells insect killers/repellents.

Do you guys really like tomato cake, that is just so weird?? I guess it does have cream cheese frosting, yummy!!!
