Hi,

Yeah, found a good dentist in Bundang and he is only doing urgent work at the moment for a reasonable price of 1.6M.
Shortage of dentists and skilled ones at that was chronic in Scotland when I left.

I had stopped getting filling repairs done because my dentist was hopeless.
Found a good dentist who can do a really terrific job, where my last dentists repairs failed.
He has suggested that I think about getting some teeth implants done.
These are badly needed, as I have a gap of 3 teeth missing on one side and 2 missing on the opposite side. Chewing is done with the K9s etc., while the lack of pressure on opposite teeth may cause them to loose their bond in the gum.

I will need a bridge of 3 artificial teeth placed over 2 implants, and 2 artificial teeth on another implant. Total cost for this will be 6M(2M per implant).
I'm happy and trust the dentist to do an excellent job, but I want to hear from anyone who has had similar work done. Is this a reasonable price?

Thanks,
Ken

I have paid 6 million this year for 3 implants and a 2 tooth bridge..(I had 1 implant first, then got the rest with a discount)..in Gangnam, so yeah, your quote sounds reasonable.

There's that office of the two Harvard guys in Seoul. They charged me 1.8 for an implant. If you need the number, I'll look for it.

Implants are the same cost in Canada. 2mil is normal here. I think the high cost is determined by the manufacturer, not the dentist.

You should get a gold grill and a big gold chain too. Maybe it's cheaper?

I had my teeth worked on in Chiang Mai Thailand 4 months ago. I got 5 white fillings and a cleaning for $180. They offered a dental implant for $1000 to replace my missing tooth I lost when I had an abscess due to not being able to afford $1500 for a root canal in the states, but I didn't get it. It was a small practice, but the dentist did top notch professional work.

Medical tourism is popular in Thailand. I would get it on vacation if I were you. I'm getting rid of all my amalgams this year to be replaced with white composite fillings for $30 each and might get the implant.

Thanks folks.

I feel really happy with the dentist. Really honest, and other dentists wanted to do work which is not essentially required. Dentist used to be in Gangnam and now works in Bundang.
A friend questioned the high price today so I thought I would get other opinions.

I also reckon 6M is a small price for being able to chew again, and stop the teeth which don't feel any bite pressure from coming loose and getting a weaker jaw.

Maybe in September after vacation, look at starting the process.

Thanks again and have a nice week,
Ken.
