I had a quick look on some websites and found a few cards to buy for cheap calls to the UK. The cheapest was a PC to Phone card at 2cent$ per minute. Does anyone use this one? I would have to buy a new VoIP phone or microphone headset to use it though, but it would beat finding a public payphone to use, and I have no intention of getting a home landline.
Is a VoIP phone the thing I need? I presume this connects via USB or plugs into the Expresscard slot? Any particular models I should be looking at? |

I use the phone card service from Kangsantravel.com. To the U.K. it's about 5 cents/minute. I've never had a problem with them calling Canada. Just regular phone (no CB-style talking, like IP phones). You just have to deposit 30K in their account. Then call them and give them your name. They will give you a number and access code and you'll be ready to go.

Click "Phone cards" at the bottom/middle of the page. |
