Apparently if you want to invite your fellow classmates to your birthday party in Sweden you need to invite everyone, including classmates you do not like. Talk about political correctness.
edit....
If he was holding the party at school, I would understand the teacher. However, if he is going to have the party at his house, that is his choice. |

OK, I'll bite, I'll talk about political correctness. Can we get rid of this cliched 90's term? It doesn't have anything to do with politics or correctness. The issue is usually about someone either being insensitive or someone being too sensitive. What's wrong with calling the issue you mentioned Oversensitivity? |

Are you suggesting that the term(s) "politically correct/incorrect" are politically incorrect? |

You did notice the emoticon, didn't you? In case you're not familiar with netspeak, it basically means "My remark is not intended to be taken seriously."

Nothing new here, just the age.
We're all being told what to think, what to speak, who to like, and what to do.
The difference is, when you're older if you say the politically incorrect - it's a incitement to violence, if don't think the official historical line, it's denial, if you don't like a certain group it's racism and if you don't do the right thing, you're sent to sensitivity training.

I prefer George Carlin's definition of it as being "the pussification of society" |

Not only Sweden. Happens all across Canada and the US, too, and has for a good number of years. It was part and parcel with not hurting students' self-esteem: don't use Xs on homeowrk, don't use red pens to correct homework/tests, no Fs and just pass the students on, don't keep score when they play baseball because "everyone's a winner", blah blah blah. It's all bullshit. |

Most Dave's denizens seem to think that, so let's not be so hard on Korea all the time. Why only this morning my wife was raging at a band of visiting African dancers wiggling their bottoms too fiercely. No PC round here. |

05 and 06 I used the red pen-it wasn't recommended, but if it delayed the inevitable drug pushing conviction until Ken L is officially an adult under the law, I will have done my job well. |
