Just finished my first contract, heading home tomorrow. Will be back in Korea in about 3 weeks. I've handed over ALL necessary documents, and I expect my new school to apply for Visa Isuance Number on July 2nd or 3rd.

What's the expected wait? Last year, immi took 5 business days. How long this year?

Thanks...

The delays come in getting the documentation ready before they are sent to immigration.

The processing timeline this year is the same as last year or other years past IF you have your documents in order.

If you have everything ready, 4-10 business days to get a visa confirmation number (confirmation of visa issuance number).

Thanks.

My new school asked the old one to issue a letter of release even though my contract had expired. It was a bit of a hastle but I got it. There was also confusion as to whether it could be faxed to immigration or not (or even if it was necessary in the first place!). In the end, it was decided that the original had to be delivered. So I got that to the HR lady who will take everything to immigration. I sure hope the Issuance number comes in 5 business days or less. I already bought my return ticket to Korea. Leaving on the morning of the 17th. Two weeks tomorrow. Doesn't leave a lot of room for error.
