If youre looking to share some good times on your bike, you may want to consider riding with our Motorcycle Club, The Rotten Dead MC. We have members both in Seoul and Pusan, and often go on rides on the weekends. Once a month we do an over-nighter somewhere on the Peninsula (usually halfway between Seoul and Pusan so we can get together). We are a traditional MC rather than a Riding Club (RC) so serious motorcyclists are welcome to join us anytime.

The only requirement is a bike over 400cc in order to ride hard. Well, and a decent alcohol tolerance once we dismount is a plus, too.

For more information email me at yeoldetoaste@[no - spam ] gmail.com (take off no spam, of course) or visit our website at

I think the club is a great idea, I just have to ask: Why not a 250cc minimum? I've personally circumnavigated the peninsula on a 250cc Mirage and it will travel 130kph. Since you can't ride on the expressways, why is something or faster needed? Besides, of course, I wouldn't be caught dead on anything smaller than a 600cc back in the USA!

I just checked their website and they look like a bunch of very hardcore tryhards, leather vests and all. Coming from a serious bike orientated family, I find it laughable but I suppose we are in Korea and it is the best that you'll find.

Shane, don't be so mean, at least they are out there seeing the whole country, not sloshing around the 'won bleating about the lack of deodorant and cheez whiz.

Well, there's no rule (like many other clubs) of American made only, but it's a 250cc bike can top off fairly well for Korea, the get up is lacking a bit for the long haul. 400CCs and above just work better.

The rest: In all things, self-deprication is appreciated. As is having a good time.

getting out and riding is one thing. Wearing a "patch" and having "prospects" is another. Posers!

Not trying to argue your club's rules, b/c if I was on a 600cc or better, I'd want the same rule, but my 250cc Mirage did Seoul to Mokpo to Busan to Samcheok to Seoul in 3 days. Day 3, Busan to Seoul via Samcheok, was 10 hours of riding time (12 if you add stops) and I was cruising at 120kph on the highways (60-80kph speed limits posted) when possible and safe. The bike ran like a champ. Sure it was at 8000rpms, but it worked fine.

Now going up mountain passes is a different story and that's where the bigger engine comes into play. When I add my girl and our gear, going up a steep Korean pass is slower than I wish (but I still pass cars).

In my case, there's a bike between my legs while I'm between the legs of a girls. A bibbitybop sandwich, if you will.
