I just discovered today, nearly at the end of my second contract, that my school (combined middle and high school) has TWO weight rooms. For teachers. One room is all machines. The other is free weights. I think there were about 12 machines, some almost new, and maybe 3000 kilos of free weights and dumbells. Apparently it's used about once a week.
I can't believe it took me two years to hear about it.
DAMN I'm a happy cat. |

LOL
Yeah, me too. Took me about 5-months before I realised we had a gym at our school. It's okay; free weights, bike, treadmill, lots of antiquated fixed machines and some sparkly new ones.
All I need to do now is to get off my ass and get myself down there a bit more often. |

We have a very nice gym at my company. Showers and lockers - all the machines and free weights are brand new. The running machines don't have little TVs though. |

The school has a weight room but it is not really sufficient (no back or leg machines and the bench press can only be loaded to 80kg). Still it is better than nothing until I can find a gym I like. Strangely it was the first thing they told me about when I arrived. I suppose people other than me must use it regularly but I've only seen two people in it since I've been here. |

Well, I just used ours for the first time. There was a student in there from the high school. I guess he has special permission considering it's a teachers weight room. I was ok with that, but when I realized that he was dripping in sweat, with no tshirt, and NO towel, I gave him proper hell and sent him out.
Still, it was nice to get once around the machines just to remind my muscles they're there for a reason. |

Must be nice. Maybe I should make that a requirement for any school that I work at. |

I didn't realize it was a "high school" thing. I just figured schools would have them, because as we all know, the teachers comfort and recreeation come before the students.... |

I'm surprised you care- you're the guy who said his "favorite lifting technique" involved bottles of beer to your mouth. |

I don't know. There are a lot of locked doors in my school. |

I was being a smartass when I said that. On the other hand, I do drink too much beer. I also like lifting weights. |

If there's one here I haven't heard about it. I suppose I should have asked. |
