My first thought is suicide. Of course it's way too early to tell.

The writer says, "an American English teacher has died in somewhat mysterious circumstances", and yet gives no information that suggests mysterious circumstances; unexplained perhaps, but nothing mysterious.

Why is suicide your first thought? Or should it be more like, "If I had to guess (without any information to suggest one way or another), I'd say suicide"?

ya... sounds odd the school didn't knock on his door or call the police or immigration even...

Maybe they put a fan on in his room while he was sleeping.

Wonder why his school didn't knock on his door or check on him sooner. It took several days for someone to notice the teacher was dead. You'd think the school would've busted into his apartment 1-2 days after he was missing to find out what the hell was going on with him - but they didn't, which is totally suspicious.

I think the school murdered him.

Maybe since he didn't answer the door they thought he wasn't at home. And, why does foul play have to come into it. He could have died from diabetes or simple misadventure.

This is creepy.

I have thought about climbing up on a chair to change a light bulb and falling off, breaking my neck and dying. Days later my decomposing body is found when the smell finally reaches the neighbors.

Anyway, sorry to hear that someone died.

Jesus, just what we need another "mysterious death" of a foreigner in Korea. I sure hope he is one of my fellow Americans so we can get another ten "Koreans are savages" threads going.

Thats Terrible. The smell of a rotting corpse is terrible. Im not trying to be a know it all but I do know the smell. Though uncommon thirty- year olds do die of natural causes. Geez, there is something about dieing alone is insert word here. Yes, we all do die alone but a foreign country. God bless us all!
