Hi, just a quick straw poll for my MA thesis (thank god this thing is almost over!).

How many of you give a monthly speaking test each month to your students? The kind of speaking test where you would grab 10 or so questions from the book and ask the kids one on one to answer the questions in the form of a test, and the test results would go back to the kid's parents on their monthly reports.

If you do, vote yes, if you don't vote no. Poll will be open for 24 hours. Thanks for your help guys.

I have to do one of these at mid-term and another at the end of each semester, so I voted no.

Confused

I voted "yes" but I don't grade them on these "tests". We call it "speaking practice" and we do it every class. (Once a week.) It eats up time like you wouldn't believe!

Only two (oh no wait make that four... assholes) weeks left!

Unfortunately public school jobs don't let you grade your students. This is what causes the low motivation dancing monkey syndrome.
