| Where is the cheapest tourist visa run from Seoul? I would think the Qingdao ferry might be cheaper than the traditional flight to Osaka that many people do. |

Is that cheap? You have to take the KTX from Seoul to Busan, Busan to Fukuoka, and then take the KTX again. |

| I'm wonering if taking a day trip to Kaesong would be enough? I went on a 4 day tour to NK and got my passport stamped in and out, but I am on an e-2. Has anyone done this on a tourist visa and gotten 90 days again (or whatever it is you get for your country) on reentry? |

Not after you factor in the cost of the Chinese entry visa.
Ferry to Japan is the cheapest and easiest. Cheap flight to anywhere on a seat sale comes in a close 2nd (Taiwan or HK can often be had for ~350k). |

If you go to Kaeseong with Adventure Korea, it will run you around 300,000 won. Then, once in Kaeseong, take the train up to Pyongyang for about $40 round trip (you must pay in US dollars). The S. Korean consulate/embassy is near the world's largest hotel. Rooms are super cheap right now, yeogwan prices. |

If you want to save money take the overnight slow ferry to Fukuoka (7-10 hours). It is much cheaper than the hydrofoil.
Its a nice journey across too if the weather is nice. |
