Anyone have any thoughts or experiences regarding booking clubs? They sound pretty interesting to me...

I think the non-booking clubs are more foreigner-friendly. Unless you got the serious $$$ to get the expensive booths or rooms, the girls will generally leave within a minute of being seated. What does help quite a bit is to go with a lot of Korean friends. That way there is a greater chance to her staying a bit longer. I've found that there are a quite a few English speaking girls at the more expensive nightclubs. Nilla (at the Hotel Elluie) and Boss 557 are the two that I would recommend.

I have always wanted to go to a booking club, but the whole experience is fraught with racism. You get burned, your wallet and your ego. I had a student who used to go a lot and if I can take 1/3 of his stories as true, then the Korean man has it very easy, if he has some money. I have heard of some places in Kangnam that take in foreign dudes, but if you go, go with Korean friends as the other poster has said. Not living in Seoul, but a provincial minded city, there isn't really even a good nightclub that is excepting of foreigners here; most will say "no foreigners". Go to the hotel nightclubs in Seoul or Busan if you want that kind of environment, and I would recommend getting your male Korean friends to take you. These clubs are really only for the 20 something set, or young 30's, with money to burn. I have one qualification, but not the other. If you go to a booking club, write back and tell us all about it.

U neednt actually go to one to see booking. I went to a normal dance club with my gf a while back and we were sitting, and all of a sudden some pencil neck geek waiter comes and tries to pull my gf to another table. It seems that some koreans wanted a girl to come and do booking. She said no, but this guy was still pulling her. I had to jump out of my seat and push pencil boy away. Booking happens everywhere, so be careful. It doesnt have to be an actual booking club.

True. You don't have to go to a booking club to do booking. I went to a club in Gangnam with my Korean friend and these guys wanted us to come sit with them. We told them "No". The waiter also came and sat with us,and so did a waitress. A picky on the street dragged us in there. We were always getting bugged to go into this place. One picky even told us one night that the guys in there take Viagra. We were like "So what"?

I went to nyla niteclub before christmas, formerly known as julinas and apparently Koreas most famous club..met a =n arab guy and his korean girlfriend in itaewon and he invited me and my korean gf to go with them there.
was extremely expensive and overall the bill was 1000$ between the four of us(the arab guy paid). For a supposedly classy venue, the place was completely cheesy with mustard jacketed waiters dragging girls all over the place, westerners can go there, but u must book a table early in the night or arrive very early.
The girls there were beautiful and of a far higher standard then i had seen in other clubs here. Forget about the booking system if u want to talk to the girls as they will just be dragged over, giggle, and put their hands over their mouths...if u reallywant to pick up, head to the dance floor..i was the only westerner there so a bit of a novelty...i enjoyed it and it was something different but i would never pay that amount of money to dance to sub standard house music..if u go go early, and with a thick wallet

I went to one on recommendation from my roommate; mind you, this booking club is in Cheonan, and we went with a couple of Irish girls. Ireland 3: America 1.

I went on recommendation of the place's cheesiness. And damn was it ever cheesy. Especially the boy/girl bands. Russian dancers. I'm sorry, but it ain't the kind of place I could see myself seriously walking into, looking for a date.

Go there for fun or for an experience, but not for any serious reasons. Too much money, too freaky and definitely very, very Korean.

Some of you guys are so picky and snobby, these clubs are fun for an experience; I wouldn't want my social life to revolve around then completely, but go once or twice is okay for an experience; and don't necessarily go there intent on picking up, just go to have a good time. Nice night out, Korean experience or whatever. It's fun.

Best done with a nicely dressed foreign / Korean mixed crowd. Spend loads$$$

I went to one for the first time about a week ago with a Korean friend. The guy outside offered a "guaranteed" one night stand with one of the girls. Shyaaah...not in THIS club. Actually, it was as if someone had released the hounds on this night or something. All the hot ones were already taken.

I almost completely gave up on the booking system that night. As we were about 2 minutes away from ditching the place, I decided that the only thing that would get me to stay would be an attractive young female coming up and at least faking some English ability. We had already been through about 12 pairs of girls who spent the whole time covering their mouths while they giggled whenever we spoke. It was an absolute bore. Lo and behold though, as I was in my pessimistic decision making process..2 non-escorted girls sat down with us, and the cute one spoke some English. I've already taken her out since then and we're infatuated with each other.

Anyhow, if it weren't for that, I'd definitely give the experience 2 thumbs down. 240,000 for a bottle of Jack and some Kwa-il (fruit) anju...I'll stick with the regular nights out in which I can hear better music for a fraction of the price, meet more interesting people, and have a more exciting experience. No harm in trying it out though!

Hey, I had a girlfriend tell me that we, "should go to a Korean nightclub together" sometime.

Was she talking about swinging, where she would get pulled away by a guy?

If it had been a "booking" club, would it have been that?

Also, is that all these booking clubs are, is high-priced prostitution where the girl gets the money and also chooses who she wants?

Sounds like a crap deal to me!

I was always under the impression that booking clubs were the Korean version of speed-dating, or maybe the Korean version of a Western singles bar with phones at every table. Instead of a phone you've got a very insistent waiter. I really don't know, but given that red lights districts are not scarce I can't believe they're thinly disguised brothels.

too my knowledge booking clubs aren't places where people swap partners.

YOu go there with a group of people of your own sex. Then the waiters will introduce girls to guys.

I've been to a couple of night clubs in ULsan here (not near as costly as the ones in Seoul). I always went with coworkers so it was always a mix of guys and girls. Had good times there. I saw the waiters going around and introducing girls to guys. Music sucked though,
