I think they are protesting over the wrong thing. There is nothing wrong with the beef. I applaud the fact that they took it to the streets on such a large scale and it did make a difference. Thats what Americans should do. High gas prices, loss of jobs due to outsourcing, NAFTA, mortgage crisis, take it to the streets man. Let them know that you're not going to take it. How many times does Bush have to admit that he lied to the UN before you figure out the guy is bad news. And don't think for one minute that OB or McCain will change anything. Just drive around and look at the FEMA camps that have been built. BTW they were built by Haliburton( Dick Chenney) who also hold all of the Iraq contracts along with KBR for the support and construction of the country. Public knowledge, not some conspiracy theory. If Americans want change then put down the cheeseburger and put off going to Wal-Mart for a day and take it to the streets. As to US Beef, I'm going to fire up my grill in a few minutes and eat my US Beef.

I somewhat respect standing up for yourself, but these protestors took it to a new level, which ended up getting them nothing but disdain from me and so many others.

It was one thing to protest over false information given by the left wing media, and then another to bring out candles and make asses of themselves, but then when the violence started, I was praying that the cops would grow some balls and start firing tear gas.

If Koreans do not want to eat US beef, then don't. No one is forcing them. If I go to America to a shoe store and see shoes from Korea and I do not want to buy them, but instead buy the ones made in China, then am I going to have a protest against Korean shoes? Rolling Eyes

A large part of this protest comes down to Koreans not trusting Koreans.

I said that same thing to many people. and they always answer that 'we don't know where the beef came from'. Well geez louise, that ain't America's fault that Koreans are born liars, now is it?

Koreans who are being violent are now losing their collective asses to US Beef. If anything, it's opened more peoples' eyes to the price differences.

Years back, at the same time, I was driving a Honda made in Ohio and my mother was driving a Ford made in Japan. Laughing

I remember hearing a story where a US car company would only allow US cars on its parking lots; US cars made in Japan were allowed to park, while Japanese cars made in the US were not.

In the 1980's it was fashion among some American college students to not eat at MD because they imported beef from ranches in Brazil that were destroying the rain forest.

Also, Don't drink Coors because they supported the Contras.
Don't drink Bud because they support the gay olympics.
Corona employees were pissing in the beer.

Off topic...slightly

Luckily, where I went to school we had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale/Porter and Stout. Plus plenty of awesome burger joints so we didn't need MD and after hours there was always a roach coach dealing out tacos, burritos and other Mexican food.

And if I was in Mex, a Dos Equis Amber was glued to my mouth at all times...Or a Pacifica, Tecate's not too bad.

The beef is a coincidental event that allows them to combine their anti-americanism with testing how far their democratic rights extend.

They're also betrayed because LMB accepted something that the Japanese had rejected. Its also boredom and stress relieving...finding a sense of belonging..in what is an empty culture.

I'm almost certain Kia have the same policy here.

Its great that they are protesting against LMB. But American beef is entirely the wrong focus- when you consider he has a host of insane policy objectives: the grand canal for one.

Wow. Not much freedom of choice there. This sounds like a twisted company insurance policy: Drive a US car and nobody gets hurt! Twisted Evil
