Hi all,
I have been living here for 4 months now and live in the Sungbuk-gu area, between Miasamgeori station on line 4, and Wolgok station on line 6. I have mainly hung out in Itaewon, which admittedly is not far at all, but was hoping to find somewhere a bit closer to hand out and meet people. Does anyone know of any ex-pat bars or places to go and meet other foreigners in my neighbourhood? I am also close to Korea University.
Any advice or tips would be great!
Thanks

man, this topic is coming up over and over again! then again, the search function seems to be garbage. glad to hear my gu is getting the attention it deserves though.

sounds like you live right around jongam-dong/gireum. if that's the case, your best bets are the sungshin women's univ. in donam-dong (on line 4 at sungshin women's univ. station), and anam-dong (line 6 at anam station). korea univ. has its own subway stop on line 6, but there's nothing around there. anam station, which is the more popular area for the students, is actually closer to korea univ. science campus and the university hospital. not sure how much action is floating around either area in terms of western haunts.

there's also hyehwa on line 4 in jung-gu, which is a much bigger area than the two 1 listed earlier. not sure what's going on down there these days, but the comfort zone/living room have always drawn some foreign interest. i'm sure people will chime in with more specifics, but my time is up for now. good luck!
