Depends on the budget and what you consider to be romantic.
Boracay is popular for obvious reasons, beach, nightlife, quiet if you want it.
The same can be said for Bohol with the addition of shopping when the weather turns inclement. Alona tropical or Alona Palm (depending on your budget).
Upscale, el Nido resort in Palawan is quiet, classy and romantic.
Even the high end places on Mactan / Cebu fit that bill quite nicely (Shangrila, Plantation Bay, Hilton).
Downscale, quiet, romantic and out-of-the-way = Camiguin. |

| Looking for a reasonable priced area to go, with lots of landscape, water activities...for a honeymoon. Just want to make sure Palawan (what I have now picked out) is the best choice. We will be there for a full month. |

It's great for a week.... If you have a month, inter-island transportation is cheap (flights from as little as $20).
Hit several islands .... or get off the beaten path.
With that much time there are LOTS of GREAT little places to get to.
Just search back through here for my and tigerbeer's posts...
spend a week in palawan, then northern mindano, work your way up through camiguin, bohol, cebu island (not city), negros and end in Boracay. 4-5 days on each island and move along.... do it all at a nice, leisurely pace and get a feel for the islands, the people and the flavor of life down that way.
Great way to spend a honeymoon. Travel at will, stay or leave when you want and put the calendar/clocks away. Outside of the big cities and major tourist spots you can get a nice room in a pension house for about p500-800 per night and many of them include breakfast.
It's not all about the dirt, grime and poverty in the big cities.

Palawan is GORGEOUS!
A full month there would be GREAT. There are so many islands there and so much to explore. A month is just about right.
I've bounced around a lot in the Philippines, and the next time I go again, I'd like to really focus on Palawan. (I just went to Puerto Princes and El Nido, but the taste of Palawan that I got, I really really liked).
There is one island in Coron that sounds interesting - can't recall the name - but the Philippines imported 7 different mammals from Africa and let them roam on this island. It's become a tourist attraction in itself, and this island has features similar to the Serenghetti (where the animals came from). Anyways, I'd love to check out that particular Palawan island among many others in that region.
Great choice! - Palawan. |

| I'm really excited to see all the small islands, and all the water sports. The trip is more about relaxing, and just hanging out, then exploring. |
