There are other segregated areas in LOS as well. Parts of Silom/Patpong cater to the East Asian and particularly Japanese crowds. As for the Arabs, many mainstream places won't let them in for varying reasons and it is not uncommon to see signs in places like Nana Plaza saying "No Arabs". To that end, I would suggest that just like any hole in the market, it has been filled by enterprising types who have no objection to taking money off the dusky chaps. Another reason is that some of these guys prefer girls on the heavier side who dress and make up according to Gulf fashions (ie lots of eyeliner). Funnily enough, I've had some good nights out in the Arab beer bars around Soi Grace in Bangkok and they don't discriminate. There are also some great restaurants in that area. Hope this helps.
