|
|
| What the hell? I download the application from the Itunes store and find out I can't install it on my Ipod touch because I'm missing the tab that says application on my main menu. That means I can't sync the damn program. Anybody else having this problem? |

You won't be able to install apps on your iPod touch (at least through official channels) until the 2.0 firmware is released (it's out for the iPhone, but not for iPod touch yet).
You'll have to install the firmware update before you can start installing apps. |

The software upgrade for the iPod Touch is available as of yesterday. I installed it on my Touch yesterday. It costs $9.95 to upgrade and gives you access to the applications. You have to upgrade to iTunes 7.7 and then it should offer you the iPod Touch software upgrade automatically. |

There isn't a real compelling reason to jailbreak anymore. There are plenty of great free apps in the appstore, so you should be able to find replacements for many of your favorite apps. (In some cases, they've simply migrated over, relatively unchanged.)
(And this is coming from someone who had a jailbroken touch from shortly after launch until yesterday. I've been playing around all day with the new apps and some of them are just flat out cool. Remote, for example, is a godsend.) |
