A French study of over 12,200 couples having fertility treatment suggests the chance of a successful pregnancy falls when the man is aged over 35.

It adds that the chance is significantly lower if he is over 40.

this is basically nonsense to make the women feel better.

I've known tons of Dads (including my own Dad) who very easily became Dads in their forties and even fifties.

My dad was fond of a story of a war hero in his middle forties , a captain, who managed to return home to the village, find himself a 20 year old wife, and then proceed to have six children, who were widely acknowledged to be the most attractive kids in the immediate area.

while the odds of male fertility do decline with age... with females they plummet and essentially disappear.

that's a major difference. Just ask David Letterman and other people who became "Dads" in their sixties. Better snip em boys if you don't want to have kids in your geezer years.

Also, it's my understanding that the majority of infertility problems even in young couples, usually tend to come from the female side of the equation.
