I am accepting a position with the Gangwon-do board of Education, and I am able to go ASAP. This is what they have told me to do:

Quote:
In accordance with the current visa rules by the Bureau of Immigration and the Ministry of Education only original/hard copy of documents are acceptable for visa processing. E-copies of documents in any shape or form are inadmissible.

EPIK Application Form
Sealed University Transcript
Copy of Passport (Picture page)
Original Degree/s or Notarized Copy with Apostille
2 Passport Size Pictures
Contract (signed in every page)
Resume
Personal Essay

and send that to __ address.

The following documents can either be included to the visa dossier or can be submitted on arrival to Korea

Recommendation Letters 2X
Degree
Criminal Record Check (Police Report from a local law enforcement agency without apostille will do)
Official Medical Report (Use the Official Form Attached)
Proof of English Education

So.... I know they want me to get there asap (as do I) but isn't this a little strange that they will be able to process my visa without some of my very important documents? I mean, it makes life easier for me but I am just weary... Even though it is a public school. For now they've only asked me to send the EPIK application form via email as well as my passport and home address (via email) so they can send me the contract. I just found it strange that they were so ready to offer me a contract even before they had talked to me via telephone or even seen the application!!! All they had seen up to a few days ago was my resume.

Thoughts?
