Rivers? Rafting companies? Websites?
thanks |

I went rafting with a group of Koreans from my gym.
down south somewhere.. can't remember... took 3, maybe 3.5 hours on bus to get there.
but keep in mind this was "recreational rafting". nothing serious or challenging.
the main thrust for Koreans that go for such rafting trips is to get seriously drunk afterwards and on the trip home.
and "rafting" consists of mainly having water fights with paddles on the river.
it is actually quite fun. |

Inje, in Gangwondo, has some decent rafting. We used this company a couple of weeks ago, but there are lots of companies there offering rafting trips. |

Just got back from rafting the Hantangang (river) in Gangwondo. Fun little trip. Rapids were small but fun and the river was really pretty and the swimming was fantastic. We spent a lot of the trip jumping off the boat.
We even had a bus pick us up from Jamsil Stadium. 38,000 won (bus, lunch, rafting, shower)
So for all who are interested we went with a company called Kart Joy (they run a go kart course too).

The rafting section of the company is called River Joy. They run trips on the Hantan River. You can also drive go-carts, go bungee jumping, play paint ball, go mountain biking, do archery, ride hot air balloons and ride quads in the area with the same company.
There are 4 major rivers that people raft on in Korea
⊙ Donggang: www.orayon.co.kr
⊙ Naerincheon: www.raftingland.com
⊙ Hantangang: www.raftingkorea.co.kr
⊙ Gyeonghogang: www.mslc.co.kr
You can look at Korea4Expats for more info.
