It's the Capital of Gangwon-do province. Bordering on Gyouggi-do.
Near to Gapyoung. It's famous for Dok Galbi( Chicken stewed in Chilli paste. It's the birthplace of this dish. They have a whole neightborhood dedicated to this meal. It's a moderately spicy chicken dish that can be eaten by two or more people.
It's a big city famous for lakes. It's near to Gang-Cheong a nice valley with a river that runs throught it. There's also a huge made made lake with a damn here.
One of the pluses of this location is it's a big city. Be careful they might place you in an apartment on the outskirts then you'll really be in the boonies. |

Hey Mangy,
there is a pretty good group of foreigners living here in Chuncheon, but I don't know of many/any that post on this board. What program are you with? Are you sure you are going to Chuncheon? I found out on the bus ride here after orientation....most of thought we were going to a different location

tdk,
none of my plans are finalized. i'm going through Teach Away, and they told me to research location, and Chuncheon sounds like a good fit for me.
What has your experience been so far? |
