A real scorpion it probably ain't; centipede maybe, covered in brown sink smegma? They look pretty vile. Shouldn't be any scorpions here, though.

They actually live in drainpipes too I think. Leave your plug in, dude.

I don't think Korea has those type of centipedes blurga describes (would be awesome to see something like that though).

OP, did it look something like this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:House_centipede.jpg

These are quite common, although a 5 inch centipede is one fat sucker. The biggest I have ever since was maybe about 3 inches. Most are usually abou 1/2 inch to one inch big.

They are one of the few insects I think are so not aesthetically pleasing. Personally they are quite revolting, but they are harmless enough.

Silverfish are a totally different species altogether.

Like the centipede, also not very pretty to look at.

Silverfish are tiny. They make pretty silver streaks when you squish them.

At the risk of being labelled a tree hugger or something similar, is it really necessary to kill some little insect in your sink? surely you could remove it and put it outside or even turn your tap on and let it float back down the sink to where it came from.... only a suggestion...

If it has tentacles I'm guessing it's an octopus. Eat it.

Normally I would agree with you, but I know what the OP is talking about. I had one in my room one time. No way in HELL I was going to catch it and put it outside. It was hugemongous. I'm talking 6 inches at least and it was freaking fast. It was clearly trying to kill me. Smash that shit! They are poisonous!
