|
|
Hi Guys,
I'm pleased to announce the upcoming sale of EnglishTeachingKorea.com. It was a business that I used to run when i was in Korea before I left to start up a development business at home ( around 2 yrs ago ). The site itself ranks top of Google, Yahoo and MSN. It's built on a significant backend platform that takes most of the pain out of the recruitment process IMO.
I used to run the site part-time and generally I'd clear about 2 teachers a month. Running it full-time and I'd have cleared alot more IMO. The platform would really come into it's own though if a number of recruiters in various geographic locations were to come together to run it as a cooperative.
For more info go to http://www.EnglishTeachingKorea.com/sale.html
Thanks for your time,
Dara

lol,
Well if it isn't the same losers still trolling Dave's nearly two years later ?
Captain kirk, itaewonguy, Imbroglio, spliff. I guess somethings never change ...
Just for your infomation guys - I once pulled in nearly $4000 with that site in a month. That's not bad considering I was working part-time teaching hours at the same time ...
BTW, a couple of companies registered interest in the site. I had a number of bids and I'm in the process of closing the sale now.
How much did I get ? Well put it this way. About what you clowns are going to get this month playing Duck-Duck-Goose with a gang of 6 year olds ...
Just to let anyone else out there know. These idiots have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. If they did then they wouldn't be teaching ESL into their 30's and dividing their freetime between trolling on Dave's and probably watching anime porn.
See ya later - losers

Incorrect calculation of value. This would be the value of ad generated traffic and other stuff. Whereas this site could generate a thousand dollars per teacher rather than $0.05 a click. Sites with few but valuable customers are hard to value. |

Touche. A site like ETK can make good money, but you'll have to work hard to realize it's value. Highly trafficked sites like Dave's are more suitable for AdWords etc... ETK would only be valuable to a select group of people who have the skills and dedication it takes to convert leads into clients ...

No big deal. It's a public forum and you're entitled to your opinion. However if you'd like to comment on something then you can't complain when someone questions your judgement - or indeed your background.
And just to clear something up for anyone else reading. I've got absolutely nothing against ESL teachers or Dave's posters. I spent three years in Korea teaching ESL myself, and i posted on Dave's probably every other day. My only problem is with the obsessive types that just can't wait to troll other people's posts and who don't have any clue as to what they're talking about.
I'll be the first to admit that 'look' of the site isn't the best. It was my first website and I'm certainly not a designer. Part of it though is down to branding. I wanted the site to come across as being a teacher-in-korea-looking-to-recruit-other-teachers-and-friends as opposed to large-corporation-pulling-in-40-teachers-per-month-come-sign-with-us.
There's nothing wrong with the site visually that $50 to a designer on RentACoder wouldn't fix though IMO. Personally, I think the backend IS pretty cool as it takes care of alot of the daily hassles of recruitment ( eg. timezones, international calls, reminders, matching schools with teachers, posting job ads etc .... )
I should be releasing that as an open-source application at some stage, so if anyone out there has recruiting aspirations - then they'll be able to download a copy ( for free ).
Cheers |
