This relates to University entrance stages, not raw fish on rice.
I know 수시 1 is for the worst kids, but I don't get the difference between 수시2 and 정시. Some of my students say that 수시2 is harder than 정시 and others say 정시 means they don't bother studying for school tests anymore. Are they CSAT only? |

I think you have a bit of mis-information.
The first test they do 수시1 - this is for the smartest kids, not the worst kids. This test is usually done in July or so...if they pass that, they are in. No need to do the KSAT etc. From what I remember hearing, the students are invited to do it based on what they submit to the universities: marks, essays, recommendations etc.
The second round of 수시 starts in the fall. Those who failed at the first round or who weren't ready for the first round (usually you are invited for the first round by the university) try again at this round. If they pass, they do not do KSAT, they are into university. Though some university programs will ask the students to do certain segments of the KSAT, or all of it.
I can't recall what 정시 is. I don't remember hearing of it when I taught high school, so someone else can help you with that. |

I think since I am at a bad school. It is really dumb kids getting into really bad schools and avoiding the KSAT. For the most part there are no super smart kids who can get the "good" kind of su-shi1 |
