|
|
I will be going to New Zealand in August for 3 weeks. Does anyone have any accomodation and advice on activities?
I will start in Auckland and end up in Christ Church.
What is the easiest way to get around? What places should I visit and how long should I go there for?
Thanks for your advice! |

South Auckland is lovely, just show up and ask one of those friendly Pacific Island fellows if they can recommend a good hotel. I'm sure they'll be most accomodating, don't forget to call him 'Cuz'! |

hahahahaha
You picked a kinda crappy time of year to go. Weather wont be so good and its gonna be a bit cold too.
First piece of advice - get the *beep* out of Auckland.
Cool places and cities to see.
Waitomo Caves
Coromandel (not so good in winter)
Raglan
Tauranga/Mt Maunganui
Lake Taupo
National Park - Mardi Gras in Ohakune if its on.
Mt Ruapehu - go skiing/boarding or just looking around.
Wellington
Nelson, Marlborough
Kaikoura - whale watching
Fox / Franz Joseph glaciers
the list goes on.
really depends on what you want to do, tramping camping etc will be real defendant on the weather. Beaches are out cos its cold.
Snow is kinda getting there, South Island would be your best bet for good snow. |

If you want to party and meet other travellers, research the Kiwi Experience bus service. |
