I worked at a hagwon for 2 years that didn't pay national health insurance premiums. I started a new job on March 1st and I have wondered ever since how long (although if it never comes I will not be disappointed) it takes for the letter demanding that I pay back premiums takes to come.

I have yet to receive it.

As an aside.....one reason that I am curious is becasue I ran into my former boss last weekend. He was very rude and seemed somewhat angry and I got the impression that there was something he wanted to ask me. Although he is not an honest man, he was never once rude to my face in the 2 years that I worked for him. It made me wonder if he's gotten the letter because I think that he will have to pay back half of the money.

1) How long does the bill usually take to arrive?

2) Could he have received it by now?

3) I worked there for exactly 2 years and my salary was 2.1 and then 2.2 for the second year, how much (roughly) would we each owe???

Thanks!!!

Are you still working under your old visa? Did you transfer you visa to your new school? If you have a new visa they will probably not come after you or your old boss. If you transferred your visa they may eventually notice.

Were you enrolled for Pension and Health insurance right away by your new school? You would have had to transfer your visa at Immigration and get it written on your ARC or get a new ARC if you have a new visa, then your new school registered you, then the NHIC noticed and sent out a letter, all in six weeks. That seems pretty fast.

Maybe your old boss was having a bad day or he was angry for some other reason. He could be angry because you are working in the same town but at a different school.
