|
|
i ate at lotteria about a month ago, waiting at a bus station and hankering for a meal. the next day i broke out in an unusual rash on my face. i didn't think much of it, thought it was maybe pms-related. last weekend i ate there again, the same meal, and the next day my face broke out in the rash again, same spot. and this time it grew, spreading over my face in an extremely unappealing and worrisome way.
i'm not 110% sure it was caused by the lotteria meal but basically sure enough. and i will certainly never eat there again.
a dermatologist gave me some cream and it got better right away. but honestly, what the heck do they put in that stuff? has anyone else ever gotten ill effects from eating there? as a warning to anyone with sensitive constitutions: avoid that food at all costs. better to just go hungry..... |

Your problem may have been an allergy to an ingredient in their food and not necessarily caused by Lotteria itself.
Some people are allergic to nuts. Should we stop eating in restaurants that serve nuts? |

MSG? (do they still use that stuff?)
It sounds like hives, an allergic reaction to just about anything.
Keep a liquid antihistamine on hand in case it happens again, like Benedryl or whatever OTC equivalent in your local pharmacy.. |

| a random allergy? i don't think so. i'm not generally sensitve.... i eat all kinds of food in both highbrow and lowbrow joints, and i've also travelled a respectable amount. aside from some food poisoning in mexico, i never have experienced anything like this. i'm telling you, that stuff is toxic. |

| Diana, allergies can be developed to anything, anytime during your lifetime. Hives are one of the very first symptoms. |

it was the lotteria version of the filet-o-fish meal... which, incidentally, i eat somewhat regularly with no aftermath except for the usual post-fast food energy drain....
which reminds me, anyone know where to get good fish and chips in seoul? |

Lotteria sells the most disgusting food on earth for a fast food chain. It's just beyond horrible. Can't believe anyone would eat there twice.
The burgers reminded me of the burgers we used to get as a part of our school lunches in elementary school back home. |

I thought they used Australian beef.
(As the other posters have said it sounds more like an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients in the meal you had ... especially so when it seems (from your description to be worse the second time) |

Yeah, I think the price at places like Lotteria and Hansot alone should give you a very clear message as to whether or not you should be eating there. There is NO way that they can sell food that cheap and still be offering you a product fit for human consumption. Hansot has whole meals for like 2k won. Wtf? |

Lotteria uses lots and lots of MSG in their burger sauces.
I also heard using dog/cat meat for their special burgers. |
