|
|
This may be a dumb question, so FORGIVE ME in advance....
Im heading to Canada soon, and was wondering if it makes ANY difference at all with the rate etc. how I get Canadian money.
Example...Does it make sense to change my Won to US here and then once I get to Canada change the American to Canadian??? Im clueless when it comes to stuff like this.
Thanks |

Why buy American dollars first? Just buy Canadian dollars here. |

no, that is a bad idea. Buy Canadian. If you buy Yank and convert again to Canuck then you just paid two service charges. |

Convert to US dollars here, then take them to Canada, then convert to Canadian $. While in Canada, re-convert to WOn, and you'll have more than when you started! Repeat the process several times, and you'll soon have kabillions of dollars!
Option B would be to exchange your Won for USD in Namdaemoon from the gangster money-changing Grandmas. You'll get a better exchange rate and conceal your paper trail. I also urge you to grab one of their sacks and run. Let me know what happens. |

Where can one find these "gangster money-changing Grandmas" in Namdaemoon? Worth a shot to check out their rates |

Why not just do a bank transfer to your Cdn account a few days before you fly out? |

Keep walking through the labyrinthian cockles of Namdaemoon's streets. You'll find 5-10 halmonies (depending on the day) furthest away from Seoul yuck.

When most of your income is made illegally and is then given a paper trail for authorities to follow, red flags may arise; usually from the Korean end.*
*Then again, maybe not. But I'm a conspiracy theorist. And I hate paying taxes. |
