I just got an email saying I won't be able to do interviews with schools, but still be offered jobs with the schools. Should I believe this or is there something fishy in the air? |

If you get a VERY good recommendation from a previous school, some wave the interview. Of course they'll want to hear and see you. One must be asthetically pleasing, you know. Ah to be 25, white, and a good looking female. I'd have everyones cash! |

Fishy. 1st, you heard this from a recruiter, right? Don't sign a contract without talking directly to your boss AND current/previous teachers. 2nd, why wouldn't the boss want to talk to you directly?
Use the recruiter to get to the boss, then deal with the boss. The recruiter needs to get credit and money, yes, but they are not your boss nor do they care about your well-being. |

I guess my situation is a little different than normal. I never had a job teaching in Korea and I applied for the GEPIK internship program. My recruiter did tell me that due to the lack of applicants in the program, the MOE was going to run the show instead.
Thanks for the advice, we shall see what happens. |

Is this GEPIK (teaching in a public school in Gyeonggi-do) or some other kind of program? |
