A while back someone posted about where a decent priced hotel or lodging was near the airport in Incheon? I'm flying out Saturday, August 2nd, at 8:30 am. I want to stay somewhere close to the airport on Friday evening. Where can I stay within reason? Isn't there a jimjilbang in the airport? Cheaper is better.

Go to the airport. On the arrivals floor, there is an information desk. Tell them you want to stay at a hostel near the airport. They will call the hostel's owner/manager who will pick you up at the airport and drive you the five or ten minutes it takes to get to the hostel. It's around 20,000 won a night and your room is one of the apartments in an officetel.

Sorry, but I don't remember the name of the place. I stayed there overnight in January. Very clean, very professional establishment.

They are fantastic at that desk. My flight was delayed and I had no way of getting back to my home from the airport. Walked around the airport at 11:30pm phoning the various hotels was told it'd cost about 100 000won for a room. Went to that desk she did the phoning around and some guy phoned her back and I got one of those rooms for about 40 000 a night. Very happy with that. Great service-euh to have.

Lekker I can't beat the 20 000 won but mine would cost about 40 000 won and have the same pick-up/drop-off service. Really good.

Watch out for the fat guy working in the GS25 in the hotel area. I went in there to buy some beer, sneaky prik added on 6000 won before he'd even started scanning the stuff. Asked him to do it again and it was 6000 less. I have eyes!

I think that's the same place. I must've gotten the price wrong. $40 for an apartment for one night's not bad at all.

About the GS worker scan-scam: Whenever I shop at an unfamiliar place, I always get the receipt and review it before leaving with my purchase.

You've got the answers (above), but this is handy to know:

You can get general tourism info from a Gov't of Korea tourism phone service:

your area code + 1330...
(so, for Seoul info, dial: 02-1330)

They really are excellent, and have never failed me.

That's amazing. The cheapest I could find was 25,000 on some site but when I followed the link, it took me to the Best Western, which charges around 100,000 a night. BS. Scam artists left and right.

Try the Incheon Airport Guest House. That costs 40 000 won. Can be booked in advance and is only 5 minutes drive from the airport. Their number is 032 743 0979. I've stayed with them three times before flying off.

I'm flying out this weekend and apparently they're full. I'm just going to get a yeogwan near Gimpo and take the express train, I think.

There was a guy that the woman at the reception called that worked for a few of the hotels in the area. He seemed to know what was available and that was really last minute with me waiting at the airport on a Friday night. He said if I was ever stuck again to give him a call. (I PMed you his number)

Actually, no. You have top pay double, even if it's just you making the reservation. I may as well just pay more and stay at a much nicer place.

Stay at the sauna/jimjilbang in the basement of the airport!!!

It's 15,000, and very comfy, and very convenient.
