I was wondering if anyone has had any experience cashing in their return plane ticket. I just want to change the dates and stay longer (three weeks), but my POE has so far made it clear that they expect me to leave within 10 days after my contract is over. If I change the ticket after being reimbursed can they find out and catch me at immigration?

what i did was buy my own ticket on an acceptable date for the school (within the 10 day limit) and then i gave them a copy of my e-ticket. they photocopied it, i filled in some paperwork, and was reimbursed. i actually changed my air flight date before i was reimbursed (but after all the paperwork), and everything worked out fine.

obviously don't tell anyone what you're doing, but i doubt the school would try and catch you for it when you're leaving

Thanks for the tip. I'm really livid about this, and I usually don't get worked up. I asked before I signed the contract and they said it wouldn't be a problem. I know I should get things in writing, but the contract had only been used as guidelines for so many things, I didn't think it would matter. Why do they object to people spending money in their economy instead of exporting it?
