I am on an F2 visa and am trying to fill this slot in my schedule.

I am not having much luck so far. Hopefully I can get around

40/h for this block.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

You might be able to teach mornings in a PS or kindergarten hagwon, get adult privates, or get into business English for companies. With an F2, you can legally advertise your services and do anything you want in making your money. Enjoy being self employed. Smile This is what we all want when it comes to legal work visa status. It's like sponsoring your own visa, though it required you to get married.

At my kindergarten/elementary hagwon we have one person who comes in 9-12 teaching kindergarten classes for that time and has other jobs later in the day ... So as one of the other posters says one of the options is working for an English kindergarten hagwon in the morning ... If you like working with younger children ... They can really be great fun and very cute ... but it is not a good option if you don't enjoy spending time with younger children. The Kindergarten children in my hagwon range in western age from 3-6. 3/4 are in one class and 5/6 are in the other. I spend most of my time with the 3/4 class with a few hours a week with the other class ... We have small class sizes and most of the time I do really enjoy them ... Maybe ask around at some hagwons around where you are ... or ask friends who work for schools to let their schools know you are looking for work in those hours ... You might well find a school who needs an extra teacher for a few hours a day but not long enough to be worthwhile for them to employ another teacher full-time.

I know I've seen corporate lessons advertised on WorkNPlay at lunchtime. Try looking there.

You're not worth 40 an hour, Geoff.

I am married to a Korean so I shouldn't ask for advice?

Is your teaching job in Korea your first job?

Set your rates, prepare your bilingual cover letter and resume and pound the pavement. Public schools, kindergartens or corporate gigs. They all pay that much (or more) for PT workers.

Keep it close to home so the commute time doesn't become a killer.

9-1pm you are looking at as someone said earlier:

Public School. The ones where they have a teacher for the morning and another seperate teacher for the after-school program. Warning: They WILL NOT pay you 40k an hour. Not even close. I looked at a few, they were paying between 1.7-2.0 mil a month.

Kindie is a much better option. I don't know how you like handling small kids though. Most of these gigs pay for 2hrs in the morning. Some might be bigger kindies and have 3hrs worth of work, but doubtful it is everyday unless it is an English kindergarten.

I filled my mornings with Kindergarten for 2hrs...at 40k an hour. It is pretty easy money if you can tolerate the little ones.

Most businesses won't be looking for people from 9-1pm, though in the past few months I have noticed a lot of lunch time classes but they are usually 11-12 or 11-12 or 12-1 and pay at most 40k. If this kind of gig is beside where your afternoon gig is no problem, but unless you are lucky most are going to be at least 30mins away and time is money.

Hope this helps you out a bit.

Laughing No, it's not my first job. Hopefully you can get reliable advice. Good luck, regardless OP.
