Wow, my girlfriend moved to mapo, and going from there to Hongdae in a taxi, we noticed that Gongdeok is pretty scuzzy...it's basically an inverted hooker hill for like a mile. It's always been a place I simply transfered at on the subway, so I was kind of shocked seeing it topside for the first time.

There used to be a small red-light district near the station, but it's been torn down. I haven't seen any other signs of prostitution in the area, but then again I haven't been looking.

Yup, there's a whole strip of little "snacks" on the south side of the main street there, heading west.
