So i followed my contract exactly and bought an economy flight home. I bought a direct flight to the same airport i came from (my home town). The price is a little less then 3 times the price i paid when i came here. BUT, this isn't my fault. My school/admin say it is too expensive. Anyone else have this problem. Doesn't EPIK have to pay me? What should i do? |

Is it more expensive than the Korean Air flight back?
Stand your ground on this one. Is your ticket refundable? Tell your school to go and buy the cheapest direct flight home and cash your ticket back in. lose 50k. |

That doesn't make sense.
Are you working for GEPIK or EPIK? |

Now you know why the Koreans refused to buy the ticket in the first instance. They never had any intention of paying. Yes, it happens all the time in Korea. |

You should raise hell, but politely.
They have to pay you. |

Call Dain though. She isn't the best with the old emails. Easier to get her on the phone. |

thanks everyone, i really have come up against a brick wall. My co-teachers are on my side but the higher ups are being rude and stubborn. I'll try contacting Dain and tell you how it goes.
(i tried PMing you about Dain's contact info can you give it to me?) it won't let me PM. I don't have 25 posts.
I was hired by epik and went to the epik orientation but got placed in Gyeongsanbook-do. Doesnt' that mean i work for Gepik. I haven't had any problems until now. |

No, it means you DON'T work for GEPIK (Gyeonggi-do).
Contact NIIED or your EPIK co-ordinator.

According to EPIK, they are only willing to reimburse up to $1300.
If you need to pay more, you have to talk to them. |

I'm not doubting you, but do you have proof to back this statement up? I just want clarification because I've got a friend who just got a $1700 ticket yesterday and he got reimbursed no problem. If it states a $1300 cap in the contract that is horrible.

I was once reimbursed for nearly $2000 (one-way). Your contract doesn't specify the amount so EPIK has to either buy or reimburse. |
