|
|
The first time I heard the song "Tell Me" I knew they had just ripped off Stacey Q's "Two of Hearts" a 1986 Billboard hit (#3). I know most of you were just toddlers in 1986, but did anybody else pick up on this blatant rip off?
Do you thing they pay royalties to Shelia Q? I doubt it! |

| I just hope she is getting her cut of the profits, as she is well past her prime now. |

A friend of mine visiting me last year said the same exact thing the first time he heard it. I thought I was the only one.
Even a few of my students have acknowledged the uncanny similarity to the chorus and even a few of the lyrics like the "oh no" vs. "oh my"
Someone needs to do a mashup. |

| I think JYP bought a bunch of rights to remake songs during his time in the states. |

| Is their a K-pop song that isn't a blatant copy or remake of another countries music. One more time reeks of Europe. |

| I just listened to both songs back to back...you're so right. No wonder, the first time I heart "Tell Me" I thought it sounded so familiar! |

Wow...that's bad.
Does anyone have a link or info on the Korean song that is a blatant ripoff of the BEP's "Let's Get Retarded?" |

Hey mate, first you should be ashamed that you listen, and admit to listening, to either trak. Secondly, lots of artists do it, (Think Vanilla Ica and Ice Ica Baby, a prize for the first to reply with which backing track he 'ripped' off) Or 2Pac (come on people what famous Phil Collins trak did he use?). These songs are not my cup of tea, but I tell you everyone does it. Some pay royalties (Weird Al Jankovik, sorry about the spelling) and some don't (think whitelabels that a lot of DJs play.)
So my point, don't really have one apart from don't complain if a song you hear is copied, ripped off, etc, chances are your fav song is not all that original:) |

Not really related to the topic but humorous none the less. Was standing in line for the Gyro Swing at Lotte World one time and suddenly the song "Horny" by Mousse T started playing. Was quite funny watching a bunch of little K-kids getting their groove on and having no idea what they were dancing to. Would make for an interesting Korean remake.
Almost as good as this...
Ohhhh ahgasshi! Eedota tralala~! |
