Buy 10,000 Pesos (~250k won) at the airport in Incheon BEFORE you head down. Make sure you get some p500 or p100 notes.
Take the rest in US$ ($100 notes).
You can exchange CAD or won on Boracay but you will get killed on the exchange. The US exchange rate on the island is close to the bank rate. The rate for other currencies is discounted by an additional 5-10% (depending on the currency and volume).
The changers with the best rates are down by boat station 1. The WORST exchange rates are at the tourist info center, in D'Mall or up towards boat station 3.
The exchange rate at the banks is somewhere in between the two extremes. The are a BPI and a PNB on the beach.
