I need some chalk for weightlifting, and I figure a climbing shop is the best place to get it. Anyone know of any chlimbing equipment shops in Daegu?

Check on http://www.koreaontherocks.com
find the nearest rock climbing gym to you and go pick up some chalk there. maybe you should get a membership while you're there too. it's a lot more fun than lifting, plus you can work towards one of the stupid human tricks that we climbers like such as a one armed pullup or a front lever. |

Thanks for the info. But, I'm unlikely to take up climbing any time soon. Weightlifters can work towards one-arm pullups too you know. And 2x bodyweight dips, and 20-rep over squats with bodyweight. It's not all chest and biceps you know. |

Chalk? Chalk is for girls. Put a pair of ice tools in your hands and get at it. There is a climbing shop in Daegu but I can't tell you where it is cause I dont remember. It's by an overpass I think. Point is there is one. It's not to far from the army base side of town. |

Yeah, I know that place. It's down that alley next to that Galbi restaurant with that sign, and that curly haired woman server.
Ate pork. It was alright. |

There are lots of climbing shops in the Beomeo area of Suseong-Gu. There is a North Face, Mountain Hardware, Red Face, Kolon Sports, and plenty of North Face knock-offs. None of them sell chalk, though, I'm afraid. Mountain Hardware, by Hi-Mart, has chalk bags... But obviously that's no good unless you've already got chalk and are planning on climbing a serious wall.
Apparently there is one hiking shop in the downtown area that sells chalk, though I couldn't say exactly where. I just heard a rumour.
If you went to Challenger, by the Shinmae subway stop in Siji, they have buckets of the stuff and I'm sure you could buy shop from them, or maybe steal some...
