I have friends who play Warcraft fairly religiously back in NA. They want me to join them as they are porting their guild to a new NA server and starting from scratch there just for fun. But they are hardcore and will eventually be all about serious PvP.

My question is whether I would ever be able to keep up with them in arena PvPing due to lag/ping from Korea? I can't get fibre in my building either. Just high-end DSL.

If I did decide to join them, how can I get set-up quickest over here? I have a permanent address in Canada I can use and access to my mother's credit card - I don't have one in my name for tax reasons.

Well, I played WoW on the NA servers from Korea about 2years ago.

Ping wasn't a problem for me at the time. I was a serious pvper, and it didn't seem to set me back at all compared to when I played in NA.

Timezone differences eventually made me quit however. My buddies played in the evening, which was the morning for me in Korea. Given I worked at that time, it just didn't work at all. Keep that in mind. Otherwise, it shouldn't be an issue to setup your account and play with a decent ping.

I play Hellgate London on the USA server. Usually about a 150ms ping, doesn't bother me.

1st Person Shooters are really the only games that'll have an issue due to ping.
