Whenever you've had free time, or been too tired to do much of anything, what is the simplest meal you've had? I suppose Ramen is the obvious choice, but I'm interested in other experiences. |

Rice with tuna and ssamjang. If I have any on hand, I'll wrap it in some lettuce leaves.
Only when I'm feeling reeeeeealllly lazy, though. |

Why don't you prep all your food in the morning (or the previous night if you teach public school). Wrap it up, stick it in tuperware containers, refrigerate it, and you have meals ready whenever you want. That way, time is never really an issue. It takes a bit of discipline at fisrt, but it's worth. Especially when you go home pissed at 6am and you've got a chicken curry in frige just waiting to be nuked. |

Kale, swiss chard, and other mystery greens from the market, with bibimbop go chu chang. Can of tuna on top with bibimbop go chu chang. On other days trade in in hard boiled egg whites, shrimp, salmon, chicken breast for the protein, and *this is all I eat* Sometimes I cook the greens (and other veggies) in just a bit of chicken stock. But I still add my dependable bibimbop go chu chang. Even if you don't like veggies, you'll taste the go chu chang first. |

^ oh yum, oatmeal! instant oatmeal and sultanas..
I'm always on a diet like any other woman.
healthy and cheap options:
- Korean instant diet noodle; 'Spring Rain' 봄비, with a bunch of those long stem asian mushrooms.. i dunno what they're called but they're at every supermarket. Just wash the mushrooms, stuff into the noodle cup and add hot water. GOOOOOD ~~~
- Korean microwave rice, sesame leaf, ssamjang.
- Korean microwave rice, tuna can, kimchi.
- Korean boiled dumplings, miso soup, kimchi.
- some microwaved/blanched cut up broccoli with pepper paste, rice, tuna can.
- .. KIMBAB! and a coffee.. coffee fills me. |

a little cheese, some crackers, a handful of carrot sticks, chopped fresh peppers and a cherry tomato or two, along with either humus or salad dressing as a dip.
otherwise, some form of grain, veggies and spices tossed in the rice cooker for a bit. |

Since there are four hungry mouths to feed at my house (parents visiting) not including the baby, I LOVE my crockpot.
If we don't have dinner plans, dinner's always chicken and ______.
Chicken trick: Buy whole chickens from the super - ask the guy to cut them up and bag them separately. My super even vaccuum seals them!
Legs, de-skinned, in one bag. Torsos in another. Wings in another. I save up the wings to cook before a party, again, in the crockpot. On Sundays I cook torsos, to use in sandwiches and assorted meals all week.
Thursday morning I threw the frozen legs in the crockpot, a can of diced tomatoes, some cumin, pepper, salt, and dried minced lemon peel.
Got home 8 hours later, took out the chicken, dumped a box of couscous in the bottom of the crockpot, microwaved some green beans, and voila, dinner. Even the baby liked the couscous. |
