|
|
So, it was just a regular day. Got my canned coffee and breakfast from the little corner store and headed to work. As I approached the school, I noticed a rather old man, in his 70s or so, with a cardboard sign hanging around his neck with a bunch of Korean on it, and three big letters: "UFO."
Now, bear in mind that I work at an elementary school. This old man was handing out fliers for the Raelians to the kids as they passed him on their way to the school. And if he didn't get to give them the flier, there was a younger person further up the way to the school on our drive-way handing out more fliers. They have a picture of a UFO, the star symbol, and a picture of the Rael guy himself. And a bunch of Korean I'm not going to bother to translate..
So, the kids walk about 10 or 20 footsteps towards the school and they have to pass by a supervisor (the teacher whose duty it is to watch out for the kids and greet them). Anyhow, the second they walked by, she took them away. I walked past her, then doubled back, asking to take one of the fliers to see if it really was a Raelian ad. It was! Hahaha... I mean, come on. Firstly, why are they handing them out to little kids first of all? And second, don't they notice the school supervisor instantly taking it away from the kids the moment they pass her? Hehe. Anyways.
Just an odd thing I never thought I'd see on my walk to work this morning....
By the way, I should dedicate this thread to Kentucker4... for coming back to Korea. |

Handing out fliers for a hedonistic UFO sex cult out side a primary school? Lawls. Wonder if the old guy had done his research thoroughly. If not its funny, if so, eeee, creepy. |

Wow, the Raeliens are here? I didn't think they would exist this far away.
Maybe Kentucker4 is an earlier attempt at cloning, that is before they claimed to have cloned a baby awhile back. Kentucker4 was a failed experiment so they sent him to Korea in exile. |

Last I checked, it wasn't against the law to hand out fliers in Korea. |

Have been for a while. I remember running into them in Myongdong years ago where they were having a rally. A friend I was with started chanting, "ET go home." |

I don't know if there's more in Korea than anywhere else, but on the Wiki page for Raelians, the photos are mostly from Korea.

Yet, I've never read anyone complaining about a coworker trying to get them to go to a Raelian service, the way people on here complain about the Christian and Adjumma churches. Has anyone on here ever been to a Raelian service? |

They are everywhere. Ahh.. the flavor of life. I find it fun that others are so passionate about issues which I have no interest. |

Their HQ building is in Anguk-dong, across-ish from Changdeok Palace (Secret Garden) |

Anybody go to any meetings? I want to join up. This religion offers everything important to me: race cars, UFOs, and sex. I'm not into the whole kiddy-sex thing though. Oh well, gotta keep shopping. |

I don't know about this guy and his cult, but as far as UFOs go, it's not just people seeing things. I'm sure there are some hoaxes, but I know what I have seen. Check out this one spotted by a helicopter crew in the UK:
