Anyone from Calgary can attest to the fine food at this drive in restaurant. Not many burger places could have 4 drive-in windows going at the same time, and about the fastest service you could imagine. If you're ever in Calgary and heading to Banff, stop in at Peter's on the Trans Canada highway, 16th ave downtown, and grab a milkshake, burger, and fries or onion rings.

Cool. I'll have to try it sometime.
This is the perfect case where a pick would be nice to see. Oh well. |

Do not order the large fries. I went with some friends and we were given a SHOEBOX full of fries. Freakin' forget about it.
At the same trip, I had about the most uninspired burger there.
Strangely, every other time I'd gone, it was good. From what I've heard, it is FANTASTIC post skiing food |

Hmm... maybe I'll drop by sometime this week. It's been a few months since the last visit. Sometimes the the bbq sauce can make the burgers sloshy and soppy though. |

Yummy. Peter's makes a might fine burger. There is another place, used to be anyway, a short drive up Hwy 400 north of Toronto that is famous locally too. They got so busy the owner bought an old footbridge overpass which was installed across the highway because folks were stopping and running across the highway for burgers and someone was gonna get killed for sure. Now you can get a burger safely if you are headed south!
Can anyone tell me the name of that place? I forget, but I still remember the bridge. |
