does anyone know....if you are going from a hagwon to pub school job and are staying in korea between jobs, are you reimbursed by the pub school for the flight they would have paid for if you were outside the country?

Like everything else pay-related, it probably varies from hagwon to hagwon. When I flew out from Seoul to Singapore to Vietnam on vacation, the ticket price was around 450,000 won or so. I told them they could just pay me that. They paid me around 850,000 won since they pulled up the cost of a flight from Seoul to my hometown. That was really cool.

I think you need to ask them about this specifically before you sign your contract. As RJ said, it will probably vary depending on who employs you.

Get it written into ur contract so there's no confusion later on. Many schools will tell u anything to get u to sign and then feign confusion when u actually want what u were promised. By that time there isn't a lot u can do as an E2 slave. Crying or Very sad

You really should ask since the difference between public schools and hagwons is that with a PS you have to show proof of purchase. I had to show my ticket stub and a proof of purchase (receipt). They will reimburse from another country (Japan, Thailand) back to Korea for visa purposes but since it all goes through government red tape, I would definently ask.
