I can think of a lot of silly songs from summer camps that I attended, but I doubt if I remember the "correct" words. The other versions were much more fun.

You can get hundreds of songs I've used. But the karaoke on EFL Classroom 2.0 is much better quality. Download the player and use/personalize and even make your own!

You might also check under our Diigo links. I've put up my whole library there (well, still working on it). All the best sites for EFL , join our group and add your own! A great way to share.

Here is the Music list, you will find some ideas there...

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands (clap, clap).

This one went over well with my 2 MS classes today.

Dancing and singing the Hokey Pokey was a hit too.

Here's a solo performance of it on YouTube, but I used a slower version.

I was thinking more along the lines of easy pop / rock songs.
For example : Its Friday , Im in love -by the Cure
Love Me Do -by The Beatles

Both these songs have very easy vocab.

See if you can find some simple sheet music and a couple of kids who can play the guitar.

Anything containing the lyrics "Second verse, same as the first; A little bit louder and a little bit worse"

I just came from a rural summer school class of 7 & 8 grades...they are lighthearted and easy to deal with out here. However, most of these kids no very little English.

Anyway, a pop-song contest was organized by co-teacher.

They all got up and sang songs in English with just a little downloaded music in the background (make sure you keep it low so their English can be heard)...but they all loved hamming it up.

In the end, I thought the best song was Ray Charles' What a Wonderful World... student who sang it was very brave and confident and I thought it remarkable that he found/chose that song...also goes nice with summer.

Good ones. I've used 2 of those in my classes. But never seen that House Band video before. Very visual. Should be interesting to my students.

I use music during my regular teaching during the semester and usually begin each class with a song.

OP, here's one that I used a lot last semester as my class start song. It's great and easy. In Korean, it would be called "no rahn jam su ham."

Some summer camp songs that may work:

1. "Big bottom" by Spinal Tap. You can get about 10 students playing bass guitar on this one. Just gotta get the guitars. They'll like this one because it'll give 'em a way to make fun of some of their whitey female teachers down the road.

2. A sort of fusion of Spinal Tap's "Bitch School" and "Hell Hole". You'll need to do the rewrite, but if you just substitute the words 'Bitch School' for 'Hell Hole' in the song "Hell Hole", well, that may work.

3. Nazareth's classic "Now you're messin' with a son of a bitch". Open the camp with this one to put them in their place. You may even play this song on day one of your normal semester. Hey--you told 'em up front, right?
