| They also have a f/1.8 50mm that's said to produce comparable image quality for about half as much. Unless you're shooting professional portraits or are really rough with your lenses (the 1.4 is more durable/less plasticy), I would get the 1.8. |

while people tend to go silly over f1.4 lenses, the fact is that most are soft at max aperture.
in terms of quality, the 50mm f1.8 is just as good as the f1.4 ... and you'll get it for about 130,000 won.
i'd strongly recommend going for the f1.8 ... you will never miss that half stop.
i have a bunch of lenses, and the 50mm f1.8 is still my favourite. |

| I do not know much about the Nikon lenses but on my Canon I love the F/1.8 50mm lens. I took some of the best pics in my collection using that lens. I use it especially when I need to shoot under low light conditions. |
