This might be a rather naive question, but I need to ask before getting myself into some foolish trouble. Have table poker games been legalized for gambling purposes in Korea? I ask because in my area recently there have been several poker rooms popping up that host texas hold'em games regularly (for money). They are run very professionally and the house takes a cut, so they're not just doing out of the goodness of their hearts. If it is illegal, however, it baffles me that "illegal" joints like these (and massage parlors) advertise their lawlessenss so openly. The police here that do nothing on about traffic offenders or littering could stay busy for a year shutting down openly-advertised houses of sin. But I'm glad they don't |

Prostitution is 'illegal' here in Korea. That explains a lot. Next question. |

Drugs are 'illegal' too. They are illegal in a much different way than prostitution is 'illegal'. They really are REALLY illegal.
So no, it doesn't explain anything. |
